Laboratory Technician

DrJ is looking for an energetic and creative self-starter to work in its structural testing facility.


Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Reading and utilizing drawings and blueprints for test setup
  • Setting up test sensors and equipment (hydraulic actuators, load cells, LVDT’s, and string potentiometers)
  • Fabricating and installing test specimens into testing fixtures
  • Assisting in building and grounds maintenance as necessary, including snow removal and lawn care.

Candidates must be able perform accurate, detailed work. Experience with or the ability to learn the following software is a must: Word, Excel, AutoCAD, DASYLab. Carpentry or truss manufacturing experience is a plus.

This is a full-time position and includes excellent benefits. Salary commensurate with experience.

Structural engineering services are not currently offered in Illinois.
